DMFA Firearm

F1B Zone

Zone F1B is approximately 55 acres of woodlands northwest of the corner Mohawk and Neimi Roads.  This parcel is accessed along the red logging trail through hunting zone A14 only. Please park along Mohawk Road in the designated area.  Both firearms and archery implements can be used in this zone during the appropriate seasons.  This site is in WMU 7H in the Town of Dryden.  There is a maximum of 2 hunting slots open at any legal time at this site.

M2 Zone

Zone M2 is approximately 108 acres of woodland and open fields on the south side of State Route 13 east of Sapsucker Woods Road.  Only muzzleloader and archery implements can be used in this zone during the seasons specific to the hunting implement used, and during shotgun season.  Shotguns and rifles are prohibited.  Access and parking are only through a gated drive off of Rte. 13.  Parking in the Cornell Lab of Ornithology parking lot is strictly prohibited.  This site is in WMU 7H in the Town of Dryden.

F11 Zone

Zone F11 is approximately 75 acres of brush and fallow fields east of North Triphammer Road, north of Cherry Road.  Parking is on the access road off of North Triphammer Road.  Both firearms and archery implements can be used in this zone during the appropriate seasons.  This site is in WMU 7H in the Town of Lansing.  There is a maximum of 4 hunting slots open at any legal time at this site.

F9 Zone

Take note of the new archery-only zone in the Southwest corner. The boundary has been reposted from the inside of this zone. All hunters must strictly adhere to the postings and stay out of the property around the challenge course.

F4 Zone

Zone F4 is approximately 190 acres of woodlands east of Turkey Hill Road on the south side of Mount Pleasant Road.  Suggested parking and access are from the southeast corner next to Turkey Hill Road, or from along Mount Pleasant Road.  Both firearms and archery implements can be used in this zone during the appropriate seasons.  This site is in WMU 7R in the Town of Dryden.  There is a maximum of 10 hunting slots open at any legal time at this site.

F3 Zone

Zone F3 is approximately 78 acres of woodlands on the south side of Mount Pleasant Road.  Parking and access is along Mount Pleasant Road.  Both firearms and archery implements can be used in this zone during the appropriate seasons. Note that the southern boundary is a residential neighborhood, and visibility is very limited.  Please use additional caution hunting near the southern portion of the zone. This site is in WMU 7R in the Town of Dryden.  There is a maximum of 4 hunting slots open at any legal time at this site.   

F1A Zone

Zone F1A is approximately 709 acres of mostly woodlands in 2 parcels north of State Route 13 bordering Hanshaw Road, Etna Road, Neimi Road, and Mohawk Road.  Parking locations for these properties are not defined, but please be considerate of neighboring property owners and traffic.  Both firearms and archery implements can be used in this zone during the appropriate seasons.  This site is in WMU 7H in the Town of Dryden.  There is a maximum of 25 hunting slots open at any legal time at this site.

Ringwood Lot #4 (Mt. Pleasant)

Land west of Cascadilla Creek in Lot 4 is hunted by other programs at Cornell and is not accessible to hunters in this program.

Frost Ravine

Frost Ravine is a 29 acre mature forest situated in a head ravine near the top of Mount Pleasant.  Park on the roadside shoulder along Mount Pleasant Road.  The preserve entrance and trailhead are marked with yellow Cornell Botanic Gardens' Natural Area signs.  Follow the trail and blazes to the ravine just past the powerline to reach the huntable area. 

Ringwood Lot #3 (Mineah Road)

The Ringwood Natural Area is one of the true jewels of the Finger Lakes Region.  A total of 240 acres are open to hunting during the respective seasons.  To access Lot #3, please park on the road shoulder off of Mineah Road. New this year, firearm hunting is permitted in Lot 3 in the areas indicated by the map.
