Eames Lot #2 (Cady Lane)

Eames Bog is a forested site along Mud Creek northeast of Freeville. The 62 huntable acres are open to archery and firearm hunting during the respective seasons. To access Lot #2, please park on the shoulder along Cady Lane and walk into the natural area along the Cornell owned agricultural field edge. Hunting and accessing the eastern portion of Eames Bog via private property is allowed, by permission only.  

Dunlop Meadow

Dunlop Meadow is located just east of Brooktondale in Tompkins County.  The site has 28 huntable acres, and is open to archery and firearm hunting in the respective seasons.  The site is primarily a grassland, but also contains old fields and food plots.  Access is off of VanDemark Road. 

Coy Glen Lot #3 (Elm Street Extension)

Coy Glen is located in the Town of Ithaca, and has some of the highest deer densities of all Cornell Botanic Gardens' Natural Areas. The 122 huntable acres are open to archery and firearm hunting in the respective seasons. 

Access for Lot #3 is on the Elm Street Extension along a shoulder pull-off at the top of a small hill. Hunting out of Lot #3 is restricted to the north side of the gorge.

Coy Glen Lot #2 (Elm Street Extension)

Coy Glen is located in the Town of Ithaca, and has some of the highest deer densities of all Cornell Botanic Gardens' Natural Areas. The 122 huntable acres are open to archery and firearm hunting in the respective seasons. 

Carter Creek Lot #2 (Rowell Hill Road)

Carter Creek is located in the far south-west corner of Tompkins County, adjacent to Connecticut Hill State Forest.  The 170 huntable acres are open to archery and firearm hunting in the respective seasons.  

Though the site is large enough to accommodate many hunters, the single access point is a constraint. Be mindful and courteous when accessing or leaving the site out of consideration for other hunters who are in stands.

Carter Creek Lot #1 (Carter Creek Road)

Carter Creek is located in the far south-west corner of Tompkins County, adjacent to Connecticut Hill State Forest.  The 117 huntable acres are open to archery and firearm hunting in the respective seasons.  Access is from Carter Creek Road. NOTICE - the small bridge next to our parking area has been damaged by flooding and is closed. You can still access the preserve to hunt, and park along the roadside, but will be unable to cross over the bridge.  Our recommendation then is to drive in from the North.

Bald Hill

The Bald Hill Natural Area is located on Bald Hill south of Brooktondale in Tompkins County. The site is made up of three seperate tracts, totaling 295 huntable acres, and is open to archery, shotgun, and muzzleloader hunting in the respective seasons.  Access is gained at the end of Bald Hill Road, Bald Hill School Road, or via adjoining State Forest Property. Note that the lane south of the preserve off Bald Hill School Road is privately owned and outside of the preserve.

Allen Tract

Notice: Hunting at this site is now limited to the areas north of the Cayuta Lake Inlet. The Allen Wetland Preserve is located at the north-east corner of Cayuta Lake, in Schuyler County. The 175 huntable acres are open to archery and firearm hunting in the respective seasons.  Access the site by trail from parking area at Cayutaville Road.
